I guess this article would be classified as a review of the hydro floss oral irrigator based on personal observation and use.This is a tool that should be talked about.

A while back, my dental doctor and her trusty hygienist assistant told me that something had to be done about my gum disease issues. They were quite sober and determined in their explanation of what they felt was a necessary treatment.

They presented the concept of ‘scaling and root planing’ to me. This is also referred to as a SRP.

I would like to have heard something very different.  It just didn’t sound like it was something that I wanted to go through.

I was told by the hygienist that she would have to go in under the gums and remove the tartar that had formed there over time. She has special tools for the job. She would also make the surfaces smooth so that it would not be easy for the tartar to return. 

This procedure appeared to be even worse than I first imagined. It was no comfort to hear her say that she could numb my gums up so that I wouldn’t feel a thing!  

It seemed to me that it was going to be a bit painful when the meds left my system.  This was not the kind of life experience that I would remember fondly.

She explained that should I decide not to have this therapy, they could not be held accountable for what could happen to my teeth. I had to show that I understood by putting my signature on a waiver. Could things get any worse?

Candidly speaking, I imagined that I was becoming the victim of some slick marketing tactics. It was difficult to believe this was anything other than a slick marketing ploy.

Then we reached the point where I made up my mind.The dentist’s assistant said that it would be in my best interest to start right away.She was interested in replacing my regular cleaning with this special treatment. 

Her reasoning certainly made a lot of sense. She seemed concerned about what insurance would pay for. Should I get the standard, regular cleaning procedure now, insurance might not be inclined to pay for the advanced one later.I really believed in my heart of hearts that I needed time to think this over before I could agree to it. 

I decided to decline because there was a strong sense inside me that this was not a good idea.Strangely enough, the waiver was never mentioned again after that.  

This entire scenario just seemed a little strange to me.  There had to be another way for my gums to be healthy again. 

I was surprised to discover that a person I knew had undergone this procedure.  She told me that she was unhappy with the outcome. 

I hunted around for a possible solution.I stumbled upon the HydroFloss Irrigator.I ordered one. 

The day my package arrived containing the hydrofloss, I was very hopeful. I happened to know that the package should have arrived with an instructional video in it, but my package didn’t have one.  

I wrote and respectfully requested the instructional video that was left out.  There was no problem from that point on and it was mailed to me.I was excited after the video.

I really felt sure that this device was going to be useful.As a result, I used it several times each day. 

About 5 months later, I revisited the same dentist’s office. The reaction I received from them made my very happy.

The very same hygienist and doctor looked at my gums again.  Each agreed that there was a vast improvement.They actually told me that there was no longer any need for that SRP treatment at this point.

You most likely realize that I was very, very happy to learn of my results. I continue to utilize the hydro floss every day, unless I’m out of town travelling.

If you wondered if the <Hydro Floss is trully worth it – it really is! My enthusiasm is based simply on the my experience.
